WHAT
YOU SHOULD KNOW....
CD players have a single to 400
programmable disk capacity.
Look for these features:
Optical Digital Output:
Pure digital-to-digital connection to a mini disc or DAT recorder.
Variable Output:
Allows volume control for headphone use or when used with a
power
amplifier that **does not have a volume control.
** (Basic Amplifier)
Disc Naming- Play Exchange-Programming:
Important features
for those building an MP3 library and IPOD
listening. It also helps fill the requirements for properly defining
artists and
performance repetition restrictions for licensed
Webcasting.
SACD:
This is the abbreviation for Super Audio Compact Disk.
This format was developed by
SONY and others.
It is a replacement for the CD Audio standard and is
different in that it is not at all like the familiar digital
mediums such
as DAT
and DVDA.
SACD sound is not stored in the
conventional PCM format.
Instead, it is stored in what can
best be described as a
near lossless compressed 1 bit
format. (Bitstream)
